those loaded questions...

those questions... you know the ones...the questions that just bring up a whole mountain just in the asking... one of my favorites.... "wow, so you homeschool. what made you decide to do that?"...as if i'm crazy... last week i was completely reminded of the reason why we decided to homeschool... i asked my son what he wants to be when he grows up... his response was - not just doctor, or lawyer, or astronaut... he answered me with "a missionary doctor"... wow... what a responsibility that laid before me... to raise not just a Godly man, but a Godly man who accepts the call to the mission field... a man who will sacrifice all that our world tells him to treasure, in order to share the news of Jesus, lord of heavenly treasures... if that is not enough to put a mother on her face in prayer before God i don't know what is.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. Why do people think it is so strange that someone would want to homeschool. My answer is "I like my kids. I enjoy being with them and I learn a lot too." It is also great to be able to go on vacation when everyone else is at school (YEAH! no crowds)

To answer your question about the Mr. Popper's Penguins lapbook. I got it from www.homeschoolshare.com. All their lapbooks and unit studies are free. I love the site.

Are you going to be reading Gooney Bird Greene? It is my next Sonlight book. I am creating a very simple lapbook for it if you are interested.
